Oral Exams

Dr. Pylant will monitor the integrity of existing dental work and any changes in your oral health - bone levels, gum levels. Dr. Pylant will evaluate the soft tissue as well as gingival tissue to detect the presence of bone loss in its early stages.

Sealants

We provide the option of sealing teeth in an effort to create more shallow surfaces to improve cleansability and maintain good oral hygiene.
Both children AND adults benefit from sealants. At times, very minimal tooth surface must be removed and we call these Preventative Resin Restorations (PRRs).

Occlusal (Splint) Therapy

A splint is an  appliance fabricated by Dr. Pylant with the specific purpose of stabilizing joints by relaxing facial muscles and managing the force of the bite on each individual tooth.
  - The splint allows the patient to maintain tooth structure, create support for TM joints, and balances and distributes the bite (or occlusal) forces on teeth. The use of a splint minimizes the damage to teeth due to clenching and grinding. A splint also provides relief from muscle tension.

RESTORATIVE SERVICES

Dr. Pylant believes in conservative and minimally invasive treatment. Teeth and natural tooth structure are irreplaceable. Dental materials attempt, but cannot match the natural beauty of a tooth. Dr. Pylant will work with patients to restore their natural smiles and prevent future oral health issues by performing the most minimally-invasive and biomimetic therapies available when treatment is indicated. With appropriate prevention and minimally invasive treatment teeth can last for a lifetime.

Composite Tooth-Colored Restorations

Composite restorations, or tooth-colored fillings, provide durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size cavities that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They are a good choice for people who prefer their restorations look more natural.

Gold Inlays, Onlays, Overlays

A "gold inlay" or "gold onlay" is a dental restoration made from gold alloy, used to repair damaged tooth structure by fitting precisely within the cusps of a tooth (inlay) or extending onto the chewing surface of the tooth (onlay), offering high durability and longevity compared to other restorative materials. An onlay is considered a conservative "partial crown" that preserves the enamel and more of the natural tooth structure than a full crown.

Porcelain Inlays, Onlays, Overlays

These restorations are made from ceramic material and are used to repair moderate to severe tooth decay or damage where a simple filling isn't enough but a full crown isn't necessary. These restorations act as partial crowns that preserve more natural tooth structure than a full crown. Both restorations are considered a more conservative approach compared to a full crown and are often preferred for their aesthetic appeal due to their tooth-like color.

Gold and Ceramic Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that fits over a damaged or decayed tooth. Crowns can be used to restore the appearance and strength of a tooth. They can also protect teeth that have been weakened by other treatments. Crowns are considered a Full-Coverage Restoration, as all of the tooth's enamel must be removed to allow for the placement of the crown.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges replace missing teeth. They can restore chewing function, improve dental occlusion, and enhance overall appearance. A dental bridge consists of a crown that fits over the natural teeth on either side of a missing tooth and an artificial tooth bridges the gap.

Implants Crowns

A dental implant crown is a cap that is screwed into a dental implant to replace a missing or damaged tooth. An implant crown is made to look and function like a natural tooth.

Removable Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are removable dental appliances that replace missing teeth as well as the surrounding tissues. They are made of a metal framework and gum-colored acrylic base with artificial teeth attached. Partials are typically held in place by clasps that embrace your natural teeth.
